What is Spiritual Direction?

Life changes us. And that is the point. "Find Thy Path", was the phrase that got me through my childhood years, and "Follow Thy Path" has guided me through adulthood.
I do not "fit in". But I believe I have a True Self, something ineffable that I grow towards everyday. This journey is not easy, but it is intentional. I could have stayed a suicidal preteen or, chosen the path of the spiritual transformation, the Philosopher's Stone and Self-Mastery.
Earning my Masters of Divinity at UBC's Vancouver School of Theology in 2006, I went to finish my doctorate with Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke in the U.K. and study the Anglo-Catholic hermeticism of Evelyn Underhill who was not only the first woman allowed to teach clergy in the Church of England, but trained by William Butler Yeats in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
The most important thing in life is not what path you choose, but that you choose it and follow it to the end.
